Pakistan Peoples Party Declares Victory in Gilgit-Baltistan Elections, Citing Bhutto Legacy

Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) Secretary General Sy Nayyer Hussain Bukhari congratulated the party’s winning candidates in the Gilgit-Baltistan elections, asserting that the results demonstrate public commitment to democracy and the political legacy of the Bhutto family. The statement was issued on Friday.

Bukhari praised the “Bhuttoist jiyalas” of Gilgit-Baltistan and thanked voters for supporting PPP candidates, noting that the electorate had cast ballots in favor of a strong Pakistan and stable democratic governance.

“The conscious voters have ensured the victory of jiyala candidates for the sake of a strong Pakistan and stable democracy,” Bukhari said in the statement.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s Campaign Resonates

Bukhari emphasized that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s slogan of people’s rule had gained widespread public resonance. He credited the party’s outreach campaign, led by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and the enduring influence of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s legacy for evoking the spirit of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto during the electoral process.

PPP Emerges as Majority Party

According to Bukhari, the PPP has emerged as the majority party in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly. He stated that the party’s elected members would prioritize regional development through constitutional means and public service.

“The people’s democratic government of the PPP in Gilgit-Baltistan will fulfill all promises related to health, education, housing, and employment,” he affirmed.

Bukhari reiterated that under Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s leadership, the PPP remains steadfast in its commitment to the manifesto, ideology, and principles of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
